New fees for FPP applications and tree fern tags will become effective from 1 July 2022.
The fee for application to certify a forest practices plan and for the purchase of tree fern tags is set annually by Treasury in accordance with the
Fee Units Act 1997. Please find the attached summary of an increase in fees administered by the Forest Practices Authority, which will become effective from 1/7/2022.
The fees for treeferns will be as follows:
- treefern stem greater than 30 cm in length (priced at one fee unit or $1.70 as of 1 July 2022)
- treefern stem 30 cm or less in length (priced at 0.5 fee units or 85c as of 1 July 2022).
If you need an FPP, a Forest Practices Officer (FPO) can prepare and certify one for you. The cost is based on how complicated the FPP is, as most FPOs charge a daily rate. FPPs usually take five to ten days to prepare. There is also a fee for lodging FPPs, which varies according to the class of plan.
